FRIDAY SHOPPING - FONDATION BEYELER
This Friday Shopping post comes from Switzerland. The art museum Fondation Beyeler holds not only one of the finest collections of art with everything from the beautiful Brancusi sculptures to the classic Piet Mondrian and Mark Rothko paintings, it also holds a fantastic design store with our Ceramic Vases, Napkins and Cushions.

BIRD OF THE DAY
| Anna-Wili Highfield is a Sydney based artist currently making sculptures of animals from paper and from copper pipe. The paper sculptures are created from archival cotton paper, that is painted, then sewn together, to create the figure of an animal. The copper pipe is bent and manipulated to create sculptural forms reminiscent of line drawings. We just think they look fantastic! |

The new oak cutting boards are our version of the Copenhagen roof tops. AFTERNOON CAKE
Perfect for a Friday afternoon where the rain is pouring down. Rhubarb cake and a cup of coffee served in our Family Dinner Bowl and Small Cup. Yummi...
Recipe:
900g rhubarb
50g caster sugar
For the crumble
225g plain wholemeal flour
2 tsp baking powder
175g soft butter (or vegan margarine)
175g sugar
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/ gas mark 6. Trim the rhubarb, and strip off any stringy bits of skin that come away from the sides. Cut the rhubarb into 2.5cm pieces and place these in a shallow casserole. Sprinkle over the caster sugar.
Now make the crumble: sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl or food processor (adding any bran left in the sieve). Add the butter (or vegan margarine) and rub in with your fingertips or process until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Mix in the demerara sugar. Spoon the crumble on top of the rhubarb, covering it completely, otherwise the rhubarb juices will bubble through the gaps and turn the topping soggy. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is crisp and lightly browned, and the rhubarb tender.

This weeks Friday Shopping comes from the fantastic museum shop at Lousiana Museum of Modern Art. Louisiana is located in northern Zealand with a panoramic view across the Øresund. The museum frames the sculpture park facing the sea and the interaction between art and nature. The museum has a design shop with main emphasis on Danish and Scandinavian design. At the same time it is a big, well assorted bookshop where you can buy exhibition catalogues and posters as well as books on international art, design and architecture from the 20th and 21st century.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of having a nice lunch with our Australian distributor Meredith at the Royal Café in the city centre of Copenhagen. Great place with great food and a fantastic atmosphere.

MOM'S NIGHT OUT
This Saturday Mom’s Night Out is a taking place here in Copenhagen. As our good friends Anitta Behrendt & Katrine K. ISLANDS BRYGGE
For the last 5 days the Distortion festival has been going on here in Copenhagen. Everyday there has been free street parties in the City Center, Vesterbro, Nørrebro and yesterday here on our home turf, Islands Brygge. Well, actually it was more like a beach party yesterday with 27° and a clear blue sky, cold drinks, great food and a lot of happy people.
