Every friday we put a spot on one of the shops carrying ferm LIVING. This weeks post comes from the lovely kids shop Sprell in Oslo, Norway. Here is what owner Hege Andersen send to us.

Who are you?
SPRELL is a small, colorful and trendy chain of shops for parents and children interested in quality toys, design and room interior. We carrt the most popular brands and are always updated on the recent trends.

Where is your shop located?
SPRELL has three shops in Oslo-area:
SPRELL Grünerløkka, Markveien 54, Oslo
SPRELL Majorstua, Hegdehaugsgaten 36, Oslo
SPRELL Storo Storsenter, Storo
And one shop in Sandvika Storsenter outside Oslo (the biggest shoppingmall in Scandinavia)

Which 5 words describe your shop?
Lively, busy, colorful and a fun place to be

Any good ideas for the weekend?

Take the boat to the beautiful islands Hovedøya in the oslo-fjord and see the puppet theater with you children. Enjoy the beach and the green hills. Bring your own lunch!

If you are not with your children, go to the Nobel Peace price center and experience the work some outstanding people have done for the world. Have a delicious lunch in the restaurant recently opened in the center.In winter, take the tram to Holmenkollen, only 15 minutes trip from the oslo harbour and go skiing in this peacefull Norwegian mountains.

For this Friday Shopping post we are heading back to Denmark to find the lovely shop Kaiku. Here are what the owners Dorte & Stine send to us. Read more about their shop on

1. Who are you?
We are Dorte and Stine. We are sisters and opened the shop in Copenhagen almost 4 years ago. We love great design and set great pride in offering good service and being kind to the customers. It's important to us, that we can relate to the products we have in the shop. Almost all of the products we carry are made by Danish women.
Kaiku, by the way, means an ecco in Finish. Therefore our slogan is: "An ecco of Scandinavian Design"

2. Where is your shop located?
In the small cozy street Kompagnistrædet in Copenhagen.

3. Which 5 words describe your shop?
Service, atmosphere, personallity, Danish design, passion – we kiss every single product we have :-)

4. What is the best things in your local area/city?
The lungs of the city, the channels, the multiplicity and Dronning Louises Bro

5. What are you doing this the weekend?
Saturday we are always in the shop. Other than that, we are spending time with the family and this time of year in perfect for going to Christmas markets.

Do you, like us, have a bit of a hard time with too much of that traditional Christmas decoration in colours like red, green, gold? Do you not think that tacky, artificial lighting, glitter and a tons of Santas and his little helpers are the best thing in the world? But still - do you have a kid in the house, and you find it a bit unfair just to say "no" to all that kind of stuff??? Well, maybe this could be an idea for you too. Simply use an old wooden apple box and create a little Christmas universe in here - then all the Santas and elves are limited to one little area - but is still there. Our little guy loves it, and to be honest - we quite enjoy it ourselves too :-)
